Picking floors can be confusing. Fixing them can be too. We hear from folks all over Phoenix with the same concerns. So here is a simple list of answers. No jargon, just the facts.
What will be the duration of my new floors?
It does not fit in a universal manner. A smaller room, such as a den, could be completed in a day. A full house takes longer, maybe a week. We look at your project and give you a firm date. We stick to it. We know you need your home back.
Solid wood or engineered wood?
People ask this all the time. Solid wood is a single, thick plank. You can sand it down many times over the years. Engineered wood has a real wood top layer glued to a sturdy base. It is fantastic for Arizona. It does not mind the dry air or heat. Both see something fabulous at the house. Let us know what you require, and we shall instruct you.
What about all my stuff and furniture?
We move everything. That is our job. We clear the room carefully before any work starts. We treat your furniture like it is our own. When the last board is laid, we put it all back. You should not have to strain your back.
What causes a squeaky floor?
That noise usually means the wood is rubbing. Or maybe the floor underneath has come a bit loose. We see this a lot in older neighborhoods. Good news, we can fix it. We track down the spot and tighten it up. It is a simple job for our crew.
Do I need to stay home the whole time?
No. You have a life. Once we have access, we can often get the work done without you being there. We are very careful and will lock up tight. We just need to know where you want us to start each day. A short morning chat can do it.
Is a laminate an appropriate rental property?
Oh, for sure. Laminate is tough stuff. It stands up to spills and heavy foot traffic really well. It looks like wood without the high cost. Perfect for a rental where you need durability. We install a lot of it in investment homes around Tempe and Mesa.
